This textile sculpture is built from sheer nylon mosquito netting and metal garment boning. Based on a dress form, it also functions as a tent structure. It hangs approximately 10 feet tall and is about 8 feet in diameter. There is one doorway. No windows.

Margaret Chodos-Irvine’s work stands firmly in the dual realms of Art and Craft. From a family of painters, potters, and garment workers, she worked for many years as a professional illustrator before turning to textiles as a conceptual medium. She has degrees in Anthropology as well as Art from the University of Oregon. She lives in Seattle, WA.
