This performative installation features models wearing garments with lots of fabric scraps made with fashion Industry waste. The model/Performer – carrys / sits on / drags – a bundle of fabric.
Melissa Lockwood's work is focused on raising awareness about a method she developed that has the potential to lower fashion industry landfill waste significantly. Her discovery enables designers to create additional garments from the pattern waste area fabrics that are usually sent to the landfill.
